1 killed in head-on crash in Sherwood Township



SHERWOOD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A girl was killed in an early morning head-on crash in Sherwood Township.

Round 12:45 a.m., Michigan State Police troopers had been despatched to M-60 close to Blossom Street for a crash.

Responding troopers discovered {that a} 2000 Pontiac Bonneville, pushed by 45-year-old Mollie Salina Royce of Burton, was heading east on M-60. Close to Blossom Street, the automobile crossed the middle line and hit a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado head-on. The Pontiac went off the east aspect of the highway and the Silverado went off the west.

Royce died on the scene, MSP mentioned.

The driving force of the Silverado, 57-year-old Billy Joe Vanwormer of Colon, was taken to the hospital, MSP mentioned. His situation is unknown.

MSP mentioned it is unknown if alcohol or medicine performed an element within the crash.
