Miguel Harichi, runner-up of Love Island U.S. season six alongside Leah Kateb, is dishing on his skincare journey.

The 28-year-old partnered with Innisfree in collaboration for the launch of their Green Tea Enzyme Vitamin C Brightening Toner Pads after teaming up with the brand last summer. “I was diving into the whole skincare journey, taking [it] a bit seriously slightly prior to Love Island,” he says. “Then when I got into Love Island, I started taking it a little bit more seriously because that sun be burning in your face.”

Harichi emphasized the importance of taking care of his skin during the show because of the constant presence of cameras. He also says he’s a bit of a “holistic person,” so it’s important to him that a product be on “the cleaner side” instead of something with too much product.

“When Innisfree reached out, I did a little bit of a background research on them and wanted to make sure that it was something that aligned me,” he says, confirming that it was. “They sent me over some product to try.”

Part of the reason he liked the products he was sent is that they were light, according to Harichi. “I found out a lot of skincare products, they can be quite heavy and they leave your face feeling quite oily. Innisfree wasn’t,” he explains. “It was a lot cleaner than most products I found and easily became one of my favorites.”

While Harichi seems to be a student of skincare, he says but he’s still studying. “I’ve gradually shifted from beginner to intermediate. I know what to put on, when to put [it] on because I realize there’s a step process to it,” he says. “You can’t just put everything on at once. I’d definitely say intermediate, but I still got some learning to go.”
