Edmonton Oilers select Aidan Park with No. 223 pick in 2025 NHL Draft

Date:

In a draft full of Michigan hockey prospects, another one is now off the board.

This time, incoming freshman forward Aidan Park was selected as the 31st pick in the seventh round, and No. 223 overall.

Though a projected draft pick last season, Park was not selected. Despite this setback, he thrived as a part of the USHL’s Green Bay Gamblers, silencing doubters with 66 points in 55 games.

Clear by his production with the Gamblers, Park’s best attribute is his scoring. With a strong shot and ability to find the puck, Park is always a threat to find the back of the net.

Park’s uncle, Richard, played in the NHL, becoming the second Korean-born athlete to do so. Aidan credits Richard with his original interest in hockey, and carries the legacy of his heritage on his shoulders.

After a setback in last year’s draft, Aidan has finally made it to the NHL. And after his upcoming stint with the Wolverines, he’ll get to continue the legacy his uncle created.
