JACKSON — For 40 rain-soaked minutes in Tuesday’s Interstate 8 boys soccer matchup between Western and Northwest, no one could find a way to break through.

But Western was able to play a couple of long balls over the top in the second half, both finding Quentin Eva, and he scored a pair of goals for the Panthers in a 2-0 win.
