Adult-Use Cannabis Sales In Ohio Through Oct. 6 Top $109.5 Million

OLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio adults aged 21 and older purchased $11.1 million in recreational marijuana product from Oct. 6 through Saturday, pushing sales figures above the $100 million mark.

Dispensaries have rung up a total of 1.4 million transactions totaling $109.5 million since the beginning of recreational sales on Aug. 6 through Saturday, according to Ohio Department of Cannabis Control figures.

With the $1.99 billion in medical marijuana sales since Ohio began permitting medicinal in January 2019, total marijuana sales in Ohio have now topped $2 billion, with 18.4 million receipts.

Recreational purchasers bought 1,495 pounds of flower last week. Prices averaged $223.50 an ounce, lower than the previous week’s $230 an ounce. They have dipped below the price of $224 an ounce during the last week of medical-only sales.

Last week, consumers bought 181,876 of manufactured product, which includes vape cartridges, gummies and drinks.

The manufactured products are made by state-licensed processors, which apply heat, pressure or chemical solvents to Ohio-grown plants to produce an extract, from which they can make a variety of cannabis merchandise.

A total of 1.7 million manufactured products have been purchased in the recreational program from Aug. 6 through Saturday.

Manufactured prices ticked up slightly last week to $29.83 per unit, compared to $29.72 the previous week.
