COLUMBUS — One of the primetime college football matchups sees the Western Michigan Broncos continuing to face tough Big Ten opponents, as they get ready to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes.

The Broncos showed a lot of grit in their season opener last Friday night. On the road at Camp Randall Stadium against the Wisconsin Badgers, Western Michigan’s defense held its own for most of the game. Even having the lead at one point in the second half. However, mistakes and a costly fourth-down call led to a 28-14 loss. However, Lance Taylor has a lot to be proud about in his team, as they were in the game against the Badgers right to the end, something that the team has been unable to do against top teams over the past few years.
It will be a lot even harder to put forth a competitive effort on Saturday night in the Horseshoe. The Buckeyes entered the 2024 season as the favorite to win the restructured Big Ten Conference, even with a lot of turnover on both sides of the ball. Ohio State is undoubtedly hungry after losing to the Michigan Wolverines in each of the last three years, missing out on the College Football Playoff entirely last season. They had a bit of a slow start against Akron last Saturday, but pulled away in the second half to win, 52-6.
This will be just the second-ever meeting between the Buckeyes and Broncos, as Ohio State won the inaugural meeting in 2015.
