Schock\u2019s father, Harold, played at Michigan from 1993 to 1997.<\/p>\n<p>Lauded for his exceptional skating ability and vision, Schock\u2019s two-way abilities make him an intriguing prospect both for the Ducks and for the Wolverines. After a season of up-and-downs on the blue line and the departures of defensemen graduate Jacob Truscott and senior Ethan Edwards, Schock will have ample opportunity to put his talents on display next year for Michigan.<\/p>\n<p>Schock is also the 3rd Wolverine draftee who spent time with the U.S. National Team Development Program. Along with forwards freshman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.michigandaily.com\/sports\/ice-hockey\/will-horcoff-picked-by-pittsburgh-penguins-as-the-no-24-pick-in-2025-nhl-draft\/\">Will Horcoff<\/a> and incoming freshman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.michigandaily.com\/sports\/ice-hockey\/cole-mckinney-picked-by-san-jose-sharks-at-no-53-overall-in-the-nhl-draft\/\">Cole McKinney<\/a>, Schock is yet another sign of the USNTDP\u2019s strength as a program \u2014 and Michigan\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.michigandaily.com\/sports\/ice-hockey\/michigan-relies-on-new-players-to-clinch-5-4-overtime-win-over-usntdp\/\">strong<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.michigandaily.com\/sports\/ice-hockey\/through-connection-with-the-ntdp-michigan-has-built-a-recruiting-powerhouse\/\">connection<\/a> with it.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"scaip scaip-1    \">\n\t\t<\/aside>\n<p>Joining Horcoff, McKinney, and other fellow NTDP alums next season, Schock will follow his father\u2019s footsteps to Ann Arbor.<\/p>\n<aside>\n\t\t<\/aside>\n<p><h3 class=\"jp-relatedposts-headline\"><em>Related articles<\/em><\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!-- .entry-content --><\/p>\n<p>\t<!-- .entry-footer --><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After three Michigan players went off the board in the third round of the NHL Draft, it didn\u2019t take long for the first Wolverine to be taken in the fourth round.
