{"id":3352,"date":"2025-10-26T19:49:32","date_gmt":"2025-10-26T19:49:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tmbglobal.news\/index.php\/2025\/10\/26\/stars-come-out-to-support-all-the-cool-girls-get-fired\/"},"modified":"2025-10-26T19:49:33","modified_gmt":"2025-10-26T19:49:33","slug":"stars-come-out-to-support-all-the-cool-girls-get-fired","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tmbglobal.news\/index.php\/2025\/10\/26\/stars-come-out-to-support-all-the-cool-girls-get-fired\/","title":{"rendered":"Stars Come Out to Support &#8216;All the Cool Girls Get Fired&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/tory-burch\/\" id=\"auto-tag_tory-burch_1\" data-tag=\"tory-burch\">Tory Burch<\/a> store on Rodeo Drive was packed to the well-heeled gills on Thursday to celebrate the launch of fashion editors Laura Brown and Kristina O\u2019Neill\u2019s new book <em>All the Cool Girls Get Fired: How to Let Go of Being Let Go and Come Back on Top<\/em>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tCindy Crawford, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/laura-dern\/\" id=\"auto-tag_laura-dern_1\" data-tag=\"laura-dern\">Laura Dern<\/a>, Rebecca Gayheart-Dane, Tory Burch, Kieran Shipka, Jurnee Smollett, Carolyn Murphy, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/monica-lewinsky\/\" id=\"auto-tag_monica-lewinsky_1\" data-tag=\"monica-lewinsky\">Monica Lewinsky<\/a>, Lake Bell, Santigold, Janicza Bravo, Zoey Deutch, Bella Heathcote and Uzo Aduba were among those in attendance to fete Brown and O\u2019Neill, and many participated in a reading from the book, which features stories from Oprah, Lisa Kudrow, Carol Burnette, Jamie Lee Curtis and Katie Couric.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cFirst of all, I\u2019m sure everyone in this room either has been fired, was almost fired, or should have been fired,\u201d Burch joked in her welcome speech. \u201cI\u2019ll say thank you to Kristina and Laura for this fabulous book on the art of getting fired and for showing us it isn\u2019t the end. In fact, it\u2019s just the beginning of something smarter, cooler and much, much bigger.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tBrown and O\u2019Neill rose in the ranks over their 20-year friendship, both becoming editor-in-chief at prestigious publications \u2014 Brown at <em>InStyle<\/em> and O\u2019Neill at <em>WSJ Magazine<\/em>. In early 2022, Brown was let go, followed by O\u2019Neill in the spring of 2023. At drinks to commiserate over their respective firings, Brown had an idea. \u201cI was like, \u2018I know what we\u2019re going to do.\u2019 Kristina said, \u2018What?\u2019 I said, \u2018We\u2019re going to take a picture for Instagram, and we\u2019re going to caption it, \u2018All the cool girls get fired.\u2019&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-content-image \/\/  \">\n<figure class=\"o-figure   size-large alignnone lrv-u-max-width-100p\" style=\"width:2400px\">\n<div class=\"c-lazy-image  \">\n<div class=\"lrv-a-crop-16x9\" style=\"padding-bottom:calc((3000\/2400)*100%);\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div><figcaption class=\"c-figcaption  lrv-u-padding-tb-025\">\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"a-font-secondary-s lrv-u-margin-r-025\">Janicza Bravo, Monica Lewinsky, Kiernan Shipka, Lake Bell, Laura Brown, Zoey Deutch, Jurnee Smollett, Bella Heathcote, Tory Burch, Uzo Aduba, Santigold and Kristina O\u2019Neill.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<cite class=\"a-font-accent-uppercase-xs lrv-u-color-grey-dark\">Cody Marquez\/BFA.com<\/cite><\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe Instagram post blew up, with women including Monica Lewinsky commenting under the post, sharing their own experiences; in her comment, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-features\/amanda-knox-monica-lewinsky-twisted-tale-hulu-1236345921\/\">Lewinsky<\/a> joked, \u201cIf I hadn\u2019t been fired from the White House, I would never have met Linda Tripp\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cWe knew the next morning, that we\u2019d sort of opened some sort of psychological doorway,\u201d Brown said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe post has evolved into <em>All the Cool Girls Get Fired<\/em>, a rollicking, joyful self-help book and how-to guide, that aims to empower and inform women amidst the turbulent job market of the 2020s. \u201cI was on the back foot, and there was so much information in so many different places,\u201d O\u2019Neill recalled of the weeks after she was let go. \u201cYou\u2019re on a health care website, you\u2019re over here. I was like, \u2018If everything was just in one damn place, this would be so much easier.\u2019 So it was really like a book that we wish existed and didn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAs some of the duo\u2019s famous friends read excerpts from the resulting book, everyone from Bravo to Bell proudly admitted to having been fired in their careers.
