\n\tAmy Schumer<\/a> and her husband, Chris Fischer, are going their separate ways.<\/p>\n \n\tThe Life & Beth<\/em> actress shared the news on Instagram<\/a> Friday, where she noted that the split was \u201camicable.\u201d <\/p>\n \n\t\u201cChris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years,\u201d Schumer wrote under a photo of herself and Fischer. \u201cWe love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son.\u201d <\/p>\n \n\tSchumer seemingly parodied divorce announcements in the rest of the caption, writing \u201cBlah blah blah\u201d at the beginning and middle of the post: \u201cWe would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time. blah blah blah not becisse I dropped some lbs and thought I could bag s basket and not because he\u2019s a hot Janlmes [sic] beard award winning chef who can still pull some hot tail. Amicable and all love and respect! Family forever.\u201d <\/p>\n \n\tThe Emmy Award winner married the chef<\/a> in February 2018. Eight months later, she announced she was expecting<\/a> their first child, son Gene, who was born<\/a> in May 2019. <\/p>\n \n\tSchumer has been candid in talking about her marriage over the years, incorporating Fischer in some of her comedy work. During her 2019 Netflix special Growing<\/em>, she revealed<\/a> he was on the autism spectrum.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI knew from the beginning that my husband\u2019s brain was a little different than mine,\u201d Schumer said at the time in the special. \u201cMy husband was diagnosed with what used to be called Asperger\u2019s. He has autism spectrum disorder. He\u2019s on the spectrum.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tSchumer\u2019s real-life marriage paralleled that of her character\u2019s in season two of Life & Beth<\/em>, as Beth\u2019s (Schumer) husband John (Michael Cera) is diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).<\/p>\n \n\tThe Kinda Pregnant<\/a><\/em> star told The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a> in 2024 that the show was \u201cdefinitely not a documentary,\u201d and that she \u201creally tr[ies] to pick and choose\u201d what elements of her real life bleed into her professional projects. <\/p>\n \n\tSchumer additionally told THR<\/em> Fischer was was a consulting writer on season two and that several of the writers had connections to autism. <\/p>\n \n\t\u201cWe really wanted to be respectful and show that, when we talk about the spectrum, what that word means,\u201d Schumer said. \u201cIt\u2019s a wide spectrum, and this is part of it that you don\u2019t often get to see: a super high-functioning person. And that that\u2019s not what defines him.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
