\n\tBilly Porter<\/a> is sharing an update on his health<\/a> after being hospitalized with a \u201cserious case of sepsis.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe Tony and Emmy winner took to his Instagram on Monday to tell his fans that while it\u2019s been a \u201cvery challenging four months,\u201d he\u2019s \u201con the road to a full recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI\u2019m here, first and foremost, to say happy holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Hanukkah, and everything in between,\u201d he began the video. \u201cSome of you may or may not know that I was in the hospital very ill this fall with urosepsis. It was not easy. It\u2019s been a very, very challenging four months. And I want everybody to know that I am on the road to a full recovery. I\u2019m not there yet, but I\u2019m on the road to that.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cAnd I wanted to thank everybody for your prayers and your love and sending me all the vibes. I felt every single one of them,\u201d Porter continued, trying to hold back tears. \u201cAnd I know that I\u2019m alive today because of my fans.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tIn September, Cabaret<\/em>\u00a0cut its\u00a0Broadway\u00a0run short<\/a> after the Pose <\/em>star withdrew from the production as he recovered from a \u201cserious case of sepsis,\u201d according to the production at the time.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tUrosepsis is a serious type of sepsis, which is a condition in which the body responds improperly to an infection, according to the Mayo Clinic<\/a>. Urosepsis, specifically, is a severe complication of a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) where the infection spreads to the bloodstream.<\/p>\n
