\n\tBruce Willis<\/a> \u201cdoesn\u2019t know\u201d he has dementia, according to his wife, Emma Heming Willis.<\/p>\n \n\tHeming Willis, who has been married to the 70-year-old actor since 2009, recently appeared on the Conversations With Cam <\/a><\/em>podcast<\/a> <\/em>and opened up about her husband\u2019s health, revealing the latest update.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI think they think this is their normal,\u201d she said. \u201cThere is this term, this neurological condition, that comes with FTD and other types of dementia as well, called anosognosia, where your brain can\u2019t identify what is happening to it. Where people think this might be denial, where they don\u2019t want to go to the doctor because they\u2019re like, \u2018I\u2019m fine.\u2019 Actually, this is the anosognosia that comes into play. It\u2019s not denial. It\u2019s just that their brain is changing. This is a part of the disease.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tHeming Willis continued, \u201cThat\u2019s the blessing and the curse of this is that Bruce never tapped in. He never connected the dots that he had this disease. I\u2019m really happy about that. I\u2019m really happy he doesn\u2019t know about it.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tShe also explained that the Die Hard <\/em>star still recognizes his family members. The couple shares two daughters, who are 11 and 13 years old.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cHe is still very much present in his body,\u201d she continued. \u201cWhen someone says to me, \u2018Does Bruce still know who you are?\u2019 Yes, he does, because he doesn\u2019t have Alzheimer\u2019s; he has FTD. He has a way with connecting with me, our children, that might not be the same as you would connect with your loved one, but it\u2019s still very beautiful and meaningful. It\u2019s just different. You just learn how to adapt.\u201d<\/p>\n
