\n\tMandy Moore<\/a> is breaking her silence on the \u201ctoxic mom group\u201d drama that ignited after Ashley Tisdale<\/a>\u2018s essay in The Cut<\/a><\/em> earlier this year.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe This Is Us <\/em>star made a recent appearance on SiriusXM\u2019s\u00a0Andy Cohen Live<\/em><\/a>, where she shared her reaction to Tisdale\u2019s claims that she had to leave her mom group because it was becoming toxic and she felt left out.<\/p>\n

\n\tThough the High School Musical<\/em> alum didn\u2019t drop names, people online were quick to assume she was referring to Moore, Hilary Duff<\/a> and Meghan Trainor, as they had been photographed together in what appeared to be the same friend group.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s wild to have anybody talk about your life, and I know Hilary has sort of mentioned this too,\u201d Moore said. \u201cIt\u2019s like we both have grown up in this business and had people dissect who we are and the choices we make and all of that, but this was something altogether different and decidedly way more upsetting, you know what I mean? It just cuts to the core.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actress, who shares three children with her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, continued, \u201cThe most important thing in my life is being a kind person and like that legacy of kindness, and anyone even insinuating that that might not be the case, and with the company that I choose to keep is very upsetting. I\u2019d say that was the biggest takeaway, sort of the shock of like, \u2018Wow.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe A Walk to Remember <\/em>star admitted she\u2019s \u201creally scared by confrontation,\u201d but that when it\u2019s really important, she\u2019s a \u201chuge proponent\u201d of having a conversation \u201cif my feelings are hurt or there\u2019s something I need to get something off my chest.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s not always like the most comfortable of situations, but I think that\u2019s where I sort of differed in feeling like I wouldn\u2019t have handled the situation this way,\u201d Moore said. \u201cI think the biggest takeaway from that whole ridiculous debacle of like, \u2018Wow, so it\u2019s a real slow news day,\u2019 is that I feel like it just sort of perpetuates this silly trope that women can\u2019t be supportive of one another and that we\u2019re inherently petty and that we\u2019re inherently out to one-up each other, and I have not felt that one iota since becoming a parent.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019ve actually been so surprised by the meaningful relationships I found with other moms and other parents just in general,\u201d she added. \u201cThat has always been my takeaway, and you need that. You need community. You need to find that support wherever you can get it. We need to be able to talk about all of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn her essay published in January, Tisdale detailed what led to her decision to part ways with her friend group, writing, \u201cI was starting to feel frozen out of the group, noticing every way that they seemed to exclude me.\u00a0At first, I tried not to take things personally. It\u2019s not like people aren\u2019t allowed to get together without me \u2014 and maybe there were perfectly good reasons that I hadn\u2019t been invited. We were all busy, life was hectic.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Phineas and Ferb<\/em> star later added, \u201cYou deserve to go through motherhood with people who actually, you know,\u00a0like<\/em>\u00a0you. And if you have to wonder if they do, here\u2019s the hard-earned lesson I hope you\u2019ll take to heart: It\u2019s not the right group for you. Even if it looks like they\u2019re having the best time on Instagram.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn February, Duff also responded to the drama<\/a> making headlines, saying, \u201cThis is not new for me. I\u2019ve had this since I was maybe 15 and starting to get followed around by paparazzi. Everything starts getting documented and everyone knows my life and all the players in it.
