He especially excelled in the infield, posting the 12th-best <a href=\"https:\/\/d1baseball.com\/synergy\">DRS<\/a> in the nation with 16.04, along with a fielding percentage of .974 by the end of the season. Jefferis truly broke out in conference play, exemplified by strong games against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.michigandaily.com\/sports\/baseball\/michigan-recovers-from-hot-and-cold-bullpen-performance-walking-off-washington-8-7\/\">Washington<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.michigandaily.com\/sports\/baseball\/careless-maryland-fielding-feeds-michigan-lead-in-17-5-run-rule-win\/\">Maryland<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Golden Glove award is given out to the player thought to be the most impactful in each defensive position in all of Division 1 collegiate baseball. For the finalists, there are three players selected from each infield position, along with the battery, and six total outfielders for a total of 24 finalists. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jefferis became the Wolverines\u2019 second-ever Golden Glove finalist after former infielder Cole Caruso was also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abca.org\/ABCA\/ABCA\/News\/2024\/ABCA_and_Rawlings_announce_2024_NCAA_Div_I_Gold_Glove_Finalists.aspx\">chosen<\/a> at third base in 2024.
