From parades to art fairs, here are 10 events taking place throughout Ann Arbor this July.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>July 4: Ann Arbor Firecracker 5K<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ann Arbor residents can kick off the Fourth of July with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.annarborfirecracker5k.com\/Race\/MI\/AnnArbor\/A2Firecracker5K\">5K race downtown<\/a>. Participants have the option to walk, run or<a href=\"https:\/\/health.clevelandclinic.org\/what-is-rucking\"> ruck<\/a> \u2014 which requires competitors to carry a weighted backpack. Attendees can also register for the hot dog eating division of the 5K race, where runners will eat four hot dogs in 76 seconds before beginning the race, or the flag carrying division, where participants carry a 3\u00d75 American flag during their trek.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When: Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. and ends at 7:45 a.m., and participants may <a href=\"https:\/\/www.annarborfirecracker5k.com\/Race\/Register\/?raceId=33202\">sign-up<\/a> ahead of time online.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"scaip scaip-1    \">\n\t\t<\/aside>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Where: Downtown Ann Arbor; route begins at the intersection of South Fourth Avenue and East Liberty Street<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Price: $60.80 for most adult divisions, with most kids divisions at no-cost if accompanied by a paid adult.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>July 4: Jaycees\u2019 Parade and Firefighter\u2019s Spray Park<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Floats, marching bands and dancers take over the streets of downtown Ann Arbor in this annual Fourth of July parade hosted by the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.a2jaycees.org\/\"> Ann Arbor Jaycees<\/a>. After the parade, the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.a2gov.org\/fire-department\/\"> Ann Arbor Fire Department<\/a> shows off their fire engine hoses with a<a href=\"https:\/\/statestreetdistrict.org\/firefighters-spray-park\"> spray park<\/a> outside the Maynard Street parking structure, allowing children and families to run through the water to cool off<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When: The parade runs from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with the spray park beginning afterward.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"scaip scaip-2    \">\n\t\t<\/aside>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Where: Downtown Ann Arbor; route begins at the intersection of South State Street and East William Street; spray park takes place at Maynard Street parking structure, 324 Maynard St.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Price: Free<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>July 4: Celebrate America 250 at Cobblestone Farm<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.a2gov.org\/parks-and-recreation\/parks-and-places\/cobblestone-farm\/\">Cobblestone Farm<\/a> is offering a blast from the past celebration to honor the 250th anniversary of the United States. The event features a reading of the Declaration of Independence, cabin tours and traditional Celtic music by the local band<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nutshellannarbor.com\/\"> Nutshell<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When: 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"scaip scaip-3    \">\n\t\t<\/aside>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Where: Cobblestone Farm, 2781 Packard St.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Price: Free<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>July 5-9: Classic Arcade Week<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The<a href=\"https:\/\/aadl.org\/\"> Ann Arbor District Library<\/a> is allowing residents to test and <a href=\"https:\/\/aadl.org\/classicarcadeweek\">play<\/a> with 20 vintage arcade game machines, including classic titles such as NBA Jam, Asteroids, Q*bert and Donkey Kong. The event will include a high-score tournament which will take place Thursday to determine the best vintage video gamer in Ann Arbor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When: 12 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. Thursday<\/p>\n<aside class=\"scaip scaip-4    \">\n\t\t<\/aside>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Where: Ann Arbor District Library Warehouse, 265 Parkland Plaza<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Price: Free<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>July 10: 30th Annual Rolling Sculpture Car Show<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vintage car owners will be displaying their rides for attendees of the city\u2019s annual<a href=\"https:\/\/mainstreetannarbor.org\/rolling-sculpture\"> Rolling Sculpture Car Show<\/a>. More than 300 cars will be on display throughout Main Street, Liberty Street and Washington Street.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When: 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"scaip scaip-5    \">\n\t\t<\/aside>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Where: Downtown Ann Arbor, Main Street, Liberty Street and Washington Street.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Price: Free<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>July 11: Bicentennial Park Splash Pad Celebration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the opening of the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.a2gov.org\/parks-and-recreation\/parks-and-places\/bicentennial-park-formerly-southeast-area-park\/\"> Bicentennial Park<\/a> splash pad this summer, the city is<a href=\"https:\/\/www.a2gov.org\/parks-and-recreation\/activities\/splash-pad\/\"> celebrating<\/a> the new landmark with activities featuring Ann Arbor Mayor Christopher Taylor, joined by former Olympian Kelly Salchow MacArthur and former Paralympian Michelle Konkoly. The splash pad includes the city\u2019s first permanent sign honoring local Olympians and Paralympians. In the evening, the park will show a family-friendly movie titled \u201cFernGully: The Last Rainforest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When: Celebration from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; movie starting at 9:15 p.m.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"scaip scaip-6    \">\n\t\t<\/aside>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Where: Bicentennial Park, 2901 E. Ellsworth Road<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Price: Free<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>July 15: Paint the Town Block pARTy<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguild.org\/\"> Guild of Artists and Artisans<\/a> is hosting<a href=\"https:\/\/www.annarbor.org\/event\/paint-the-town-block-party\/24579\/\"> Paint the Town Block pARTy<\/a> in preparation for the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theannarborartfair.com\/\"> <\/a>Ann Arbor Art Fair. During the event, residents can take advantage of local road closures to create chalk art on the street alongside local artist <a href=\"https:\/\/zinnart.com\/\">David Zinn<\/a>. The event will also feature live music from<a href=\"https:\/\/www.a2sf.org\/events\/dj-batz-26\/\"> DJ Batz<\/a>,<a href=\"https:\/\/aintdeadyet.band\/\"> Ain\u2019t Dead Yet<\/a> and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whoasilentdisco.com\/\"> Whoa Silent Disco<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Where: South Main Street and East Liberty Street<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Price: Free<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>July 16-18: Ann Arbor Art Fair<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The self-proclaimed \u201clargest juried art fair\u201d in the country, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theannarborartfair.com\/\">Ann Arbor Art Fair<\/a> annually showcases almost 1,000 artists and spans 30 blocks of downtown. The fair combines three separate expositions into one cohesive event, with tents offering paintings, pottery, fabrics and jewelry for purchase.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Where: Downtown Ann Arbor<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Price: Free<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>July 26: New York International Children\u2019s Film Festival<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This<a href=\"https:\/\/marquee-arts.org\/nyicff\/\"> event<\/a> is a screening of animated, live-action and documentary films featured at<a href=\"https:\/\/nyicff.org\/\"> New York International Children\u2019s Film Festival<\/a>. The curated film screenings at the <a href=\"https:\/\/marquee-arts.org\/\">Michigan Theater<\/a> provide viewing times tailored to both younger and older children, followed by films celebrating the Latinx community and LGBTQ+ pride.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When: Screenings begin at 11 a.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Where: Michigan Theater, 603 E. Liberty St.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Price: $11.75 for general admission<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>July 31-August 2: Ann Arbor Taco Fest<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The<a href=\"https:\/\/www.annarbortacofest.com\/\"> Ann Arbor Taco Fest<\/a> celebrates Mexican-American cuisine with food and festivities for attendees of all ages.
