\n\tEric Stonestreet<\/a> is sharing some insight into Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce\u2019s wedding<\/a> at Madison Square Garden<\/a>. <\/p>\n \n\tIn an interview with People<\/a><\/em> magazine, the Modern Family<\/em> star praised the ceremony as being \u201cawesome,\u201d with he and his wife, Lindsay Schweitzer, initially staying mum on the proceedings to be \u201cvery conscious of being respectful to the couple.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI didn\u2019t want to peep before. I didn\u2019t want to peep after. And then once people started putting stuff out there, of course we were proud to be invited,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n \n\tStonestreet, who is a die-hard fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, knows Kelce \u201cvery well\u201d and recalled presenting Swift with an award at the 2012 American Music Awards.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cWe\u2019ve seen Travis from when he was drafted, and we\u2019ve seen him through different phases of his life,\u201d Stonestreet said. \u201cSo when they started dating, we were so happy for him. But we were also happy for Taylor because we know what kind of human being Travis is. So we were excited to celebrate their love with them and a few other people in New York City, and it was just a treat to be there.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tDespite their wedding<\/a> taking place at Madison Square Garden, which required\u00a0street closures and crowd control<\/a>\u00a0by the New York City police and resulted in some criticism, the actor explained why the location was actually beneficial to the guests as well. <\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI think my favorite moment was just that they created a place that they could have the normalcy that they deserve,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd it just happened to be at Madison Square Garden with security making sure everybody was safe and good and they could just have a night for themselves. I really thought of it as what a gift they gave to us too. It\u2019s one thing nobody\u2019s talking about is what a gesture it was to those people that they invited and to welcome us and to provide such an incredible night and then to provide such incredible generous donations to charities in New York and Kansas City and everywhere else.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tNew York City<\/a>\u00a0Mayor\u00a0Zohran Mamdani<\/a>\u00a0said Swift paid the city $160,000<\/a> for the permit required for police to have supervise their July 3 wedding. The couple also made\u00a0$26 million in charitable donation<\/a>s to more than a dozen organizations across the country.<\/p>\n \n\tSwift\u2019s longtime publicist Tree Paine shared that Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony<\/a>. Though\u00a0Swift didn\u2019t have bridesmaids and Kelce didn\u2019t have groomsmen<\/a>, her brother Austin Swift was Taylor Swift<\/a>\u2019s man of honor and Jason Kelce was Travis Kelce<\/a>\u2019s best man.<\/p>\n
