Over the course of the season, he racked up seven runs and seven RBIs. However, he redshirted his second season with the Wolverines due to injury. This past season, as a redshirt sophomore, Leitgeb saw action as a backup catcher, playing in 10 games and posting a flawless 1.000 fielding percentage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Leitgeb was the final piece of Michigan\u2019s 2026 catching corps to exit the program. Between his departure, Elie Kligman graduating, and redshirt sophomore Noah Miller <a href=\"https:\/\/www.michigandaily.com\/sports\/baseball\/astros-draft-noah-miller-michigan-key-catcher\/\">signing<\/a> with the Houston Astros, the Wolverines now have zero returning backstops for 2027.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBrock wanted a better opportunity to play,\u201d Michigan coach Tracy Smith told The Michigan Daily Friday. \u201cComing off injury.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"scaip scaip-1    \">\n\t\t<\/aside>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To fill his vacancies behind the plate, Smith signed two transfer catchers: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.michigandaily.com\/sports\/baseball\/michigan-baseball-transfer-ryan-schwartz-utility\/\">junior<\/a> Ryan Schwartz from Kentucky and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.michigandaily.com\/sports\/baseball\/sun-devils-cooper-clouser-heading-from-hometown-to-michigan\/\">sophomore<\/a> Cooper Clouser from Arizona State. They\u2019ll work alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/mgoblue.com\/news\/2025\/12\/12\/baseball-michigan-announces-nine-member-signing-class\">incoming<\/a> freshman Kristopher Desantiago out of Hamilton High School in Arizona.
