SUNDAY<\/a><\/span><\/strong> <\/strong><\/a>PUZZLE<\/a><\/strong> <\/strong><\/a>\u2014<\/strong><\/span> Hello everyone! My name is Kate Paluszewski, and I am so excited to bring you my first Sunday puzzle! This theme was inspired by an exciting \u2014 but stressful \u2014 time of year: back to school. Summer flew past, and with the first day of school quickly approaching, this puzzle features necessary items for every students\u2019 new year. Tricky Clues<\/strong><\/p>\n

20A: Although it\u2019s not tax season, \u201cForm 1040 calc.\u201d refers to AGI (adjusted gross income), a key baseline used to determine what you owe in taxes.<\/p>\n

21A: Those unfamiliar with The Beatles might be unsure who \u201c\u2018Lovely\u2019 Beatles girl\u201d is referring to, but oldies and Beatles fans alike recognize this with the song \u201cLovely RITA\u201d from the iconic album, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band<\/em>.<\/p>\n

67A: Romcom fans, like me, know that \u201cHudson of \u2018How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days\u2019\u201d refers to the main character, Andie\u2019s actress, KATE Hudson. This was a fun clue for me, as it features my own name along with one of my all time favorite movies!<\/p>\n

1D: The clue, \u201cPlace of Napoleon\u2019s first exile,\u201d refers to the island of ELBA. After being forced to abdicate his throne, Napoleon was exiled there before his return to France.<\/p>\n

35D: \u201c\u2018At Last!\u2019 singer James\u201d is ETTA. Etta James\u2019 music has always stuck out to me, with some other popular songs of hers\u2019 being \u201cA Sunday Kind of Love\u201d and \u201cStormy Weather.\u201d<\/p>\n

43D: Taking you back to high school science class, LEEWARD refers to facing the direction where the wind is blowing, therefore being \u201cOut of the wind.\u201d<\/p>\n

Today’s Theme<\/strong><\/h2>\n

My chosen theme was inspired by a new semester emerging and all of the things that come with it. The revealer can be found at 22-Across BACK TO SCHOOL. Each themed entry begins with a back-to-school item. At 16-, 32-, 42- and 63-Across we have BOOKBURNING, PENCILMEIN, DESKCLERKS and BACKPACKING.\u00a0<\/p>\n
