Rimowa is rolling a colorful favorite out from the archives.

The iconic luggage brand traveled back to 1988 — exactly 90 years after its founding — for its new Holiday Hand-Carry Case, a limited-edition capsule piece that puts a modern spin on a vintage silhouette. Available in glossy red, yellow and blue, the case ($1,200) boasts an anodized aluminum frame and a polycarbonate shell.

The interior features an adjustable mesh divider and compression straps for easy packing. It’s finished with durable hard-wearing plastic corners, a detachable shoulder strap, TSA-approved locks and a luggage tag.

The vibrant travel case is a nod to the German company’s “milestone moment [that] marked the brand’s beginning steps into the 1980s design world of neon brights and electrifying hues,” Rimowa says in a release. The silhouette is “informally known as der Reisekoffer für junge Leute — the ‘travel case for young people.’”

Known for its sturdy aluminum luggage, Rimowa is frequently spotted at airports with stars, including Julianne Moore, Spike Lee, Jessica Alba, Martha Stewart, Elle Fanning, Cara Delevingne, Alessandra Ambrosio and others. Its global ambassadors include Blackpink singer Rosé, Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton, Taiwanese actor and filmmaker Jay Chou, French soccer player Kylian Mbapp and others; while Rihanna, Patti Smith, LeBron James and Roger Federer have previously starred in campaigns.

The piece is available starting today for $1,200, shop the Holiday Hand-Carry Case in every color at rimowa.com and at select stores.
