Diane Keaton’s Red Carpet Style Over the Years

Date:

The word iconic is employed rather generously these days, but it fittingly describes both the big screen talents and red carpet style of the inimitable Diane Keaton. The Oscar-winning actress, who died at age 79, blazed a trail all her own when it came to dressing up for events over an impressive six-decade career. The signature Diane Keaton ensemble evolved over the years, from menswear-inspired suits with crisp button-downs to turtlenecks and flowy skirts. She loved a dress with a belted waist, was forever drawn to black-and-white looks and could rock a hat like nobody’s business. But when reporters attempted to address her as a style icon, she humbly downplayed the shine and admitted she just loved the art of it all. “It’s an honor! Why me? I’ve been so fortunate and lucky,” she told Vogue two years ago. “I do love clothes; I love looking at them. I buy all the magazines, and I’m constantly cutting pages of things that I find interesting — a Dior outfit, hats, or how people decorate their homes. I’m an addict.” See some of Keaton’s best red carpet looks over the years below.
