After the Michigan hockey team already celebrated two of its players hearing their names called at the 2026 NHL Draft, one more was added to the list on the event’s final day.
The Anaheim Ducks selected forward Noah Kosick with the 192nd overall pick in the sixth round. Kosick becomes the third member of the Wolverines to be drafted this year following J.P Hurlbert and Adam Valentini. While the two will be joining Michigan’s campaign this upcoming season, Kosick isn’t headed to Ann Arbor until the Wolverines’ 2027-2028 season.
Kosick started his 2025-2026 season in the WHL with the Swift Current Broncos where he tallied 34 points in 37 games played before he was traded midseason to the Seattle Thunderbirds. He maintained his production level, finding 20 points and an extra five in the WHL playoffs where he led the Thunderbirds in assists during their run.
While Kosick has a season ahead of him before he wears the Michigan sweater, he will already have joined the Wolverines’ 31 year-long tradition of their players being drafted to the NHL.
